EA's band mentorship jam sessions have been a staple programme since the 90s. Students at EA can learn to interact musically and rhythmically with other fellow students as a live performing unit.

About the Studio
At the Eurasian Association Studios
Music classes at the Eurasian Association was originally conducted by Dixie Ferdinands (2009 COMPASS Meritorius Award recipient), the singer and lead guitarist of the 80's rock band Gypsy, from 2002-2009.
Lessons at EA are now conducted by Dixie's son, Joe Ferdinands, who is best known as the singer and lead guitarist of homegrown rock band, Suicide Solution.
Fully air-conditioned with comfortable, adjustable lighting and homegrown music memorabilia adorning the walls, it is the ideal atmosphere for band rehearsals, auditions, songwriting sessions, and more.
Tucked away in a quiet corner on the 4th floor of The Eurasian Community House, the music room includes a 9 piece drum kit fitted with 2 bass drums and three additional toms; 3 SMARVO GS-100S guitar amplifiers (ideal for sessions involving more than two guitarists); a Korg M1 digital workstation and SP200 digital piano; a Hartke Kickback 15 bass combo and 3 lead vocal mics.
Joe Ferdinands
Musician, Music Instructor, & Record Producer
A true performer at heart, Joe Johan Ferdinands teaches students the art of performance, and provides band mentorship at The Eurasian Association.
His students have ranged from young children to teens, working adults and the elderly. Apart from teaching, Joe has also been featured on the judging panel of live band competitions, organised by Nanyang Polytechnic and Overseas Family School. With over 16 years of experience teaching music, Joe has taught at The Eurasian Association (2006-2014), Timbre Music Academy (2011), All Saints Home Tampines (2014-2017) and The Music Shed (2020). He is an associate member of COMPASS [The Composer and Authors Society of Singapore] and holds a diploma in Audio Engineering from SAE.
A 22 year veteran in the regional live music scene, Joe has been performing as a guitarist, singer and drummer in venues across Singapore and Asia since the late 90's. In 2014, his band Suicide Solution performed as the official backing band for original Iron Maiden vocalist Paul Di’Anno, for Paul's South East Asian tour.
Also a singer, composer and lyricist, Joe has recorded 3 full-length albums of original material with Suicide Solution, between 1998 - 2009. A regular in the Singapore music scene, Joe has performed in countless live entertainment venues, local events, bars and pubs, with groups such as Gypsy and Fynderz Keeperz, including live notable music venues such as The Esplanade, The Music Room, La Salsa, Al Capone's Far East, JD's Bar and JD's Underground. In 2018 and 2019, Joe performed with his uncle Joe's country trio, Joe Ferdinands F N' F, as one of the headliners of the annual Miri Country Music Festival in Sarawak, Malaysia.
